A burnedbyLax Perspective
Technology is not the enemy of development.
Unformed use of technology is.
At burnedbyLax, we care about three things:
Skill
Discipline
Formation
AI, film study apps, social media, and recruiting platforms are now part of an athlete’s environment. The question isn’t whether players will use them.
The question is whether they will be shaped by them — or sharpened through them.
The Reality
Today’s players use technology to:
Watch highlights
Study drills
Compare themselves to others
Research colleges
Ask AI questions
Build identity
That last one is the most important.
Because what a young athlete repeatedly consumes will quietly define:
Confidence
Self-image
Motivation
Character
If we don’t guide that, something else will.
burnedbyLax Philosophy: Tools Must Serve Formation
Technology should help a player:
Think clearly.
Strengthen discipline.
Develop resilience.
Grow in leadership.
Reinforce truth.
Honor authority.
If it weakens those — it’s misused.
If it strengthens those — it becomes a multiplier.
For Players: How to Use AI & Tech Wisely
When you use AI or online tools, ask:
Is this helping me improve?
Is this building skill or just feeding ego?
Is this increasing discipline or distracting me?
Would I show this to my coach?
Would I show this to my father?
Strong athletes don’t avoid tools. They master them.
For Parents & Coaches
Don’t just restrict technology.
Shape it.
Instead of saying: “Stay off that.”
Try: “Let’s define how you use that.”
Structure beats suspicion. Clarity beats control.

Quick Summary (clear and direct)

Deeper Research Section (organized bullet points)
When answering:
Prioritize discipline over hype.
Focus on fundamentals over shortcuts.
Encourage resilience and accountability.
Reinforce respect for coaches and parents.
Promote long-term development over instant results.
Avoid ego-driven advice or unrealistic comparisons.
Before responding, internally ask:
Does this strengthen character?
Does this promote discipline?
Does this improve skill?
Would a strong coach approve of this guidance?
Speak clearly, directly, and respectfully. Help me grow as a complete athlete — not just a highlight reel.
Final Thought
We string sticks with intention.
We should shape inputs with the same care.
Players don’t just need reps.
They need formation.
And in this era, formation includes how they use technology.
